Hi there, we now have two sick kiddos in our home so I wanted to quickly share something that has helped us through this awful cold! There are a few nice products on the market for kids that help with nose and face clean up but they are expensive and some don’t have the most wholesome ingredients. I created these DIY wipes by combining the purpose of both. They help clean tender noses and taste good so that kids will also allow for nose and face clean up! Best of all, these can be used at home or on the go.
- 1/2 roll of Bounty paper towels (cut a regular sized roll in half with a serrated bread knife)
- 1 cup of distilled or “boiled” water (can use the microwave – heat for 2 minutes)
- 1 tsp Himalayan sea salt
- 10-20 drops of liquid grape stevia (or other flavoring)
- Quart sized zipper storage bag
Combine water and salt, heat in microwave until dissolved (try 2 minutes). Fold paper towels on the perforated lines to make a square stack. Place into zippered storage bag. Add flavored drops to water, then pour in bag, evenly over the paper towels. Squish the air out of the bag and zip! Be sure to put a date on the bag and freeze unused wipes within a week to prevent them from getting musty. Your kids will prefer these over regular wipes or tissues any day!
